Hi, I just joined Thin's In the other day, and well...I don't know how anyone can do this. I'm really having a tough time. You see, I have a terrible sweet tooth - absolutely horrible! And I love to munch...and I've had to stop...it's like torture. I'm really looking to be able to find someone (or a group of someones) who may be going through the same things and want to talk about it sometime? I'd love to hear from you.

Thanks
Lexi

Hey Lexi,

There is one thing I heard that helps. Before each meal (preferablly 30 min before) take 2 tbls. apple cider vinegar. It will help you curb your appetite, plus it is healthy for you, and has been known to help with weight loss. Also, an easier way to take it is with 1 cup sugar free grapefruit juice, 1 tbls honey, with 2 tbls apple cider vinegar. Grapefruit juice also helps with weight loss.. but don't do it that way if you are on medication.

Just some other tips to help-

- Go to the store when you're not hungry, or when you're most motivated to eat right

- brush your teeth, because you don't like eating after you have clean teeth, right?

- put a peice of tape across the kitchen entrance

- do some sit-ups or go for a walk if you are craving, so when you are done, you will feel happy and won't want to eat that junk.

- Drink lots of water (Also if you drink water before your meal, you won't be as hungry)

- chew sugar free gum

- Can't do anything but want sugar?
-Fruit
-Tea with splenda
-cut up an apple, stick into a microwavable bowl and sprinkle splenda and cinnamon over top and cover with cellophane. Stick in the microwave for 3 minutes checking every minute to see if it is tender when poked with a fork. If it is, take it out and you have yourself a healthy apple pie. :) If you want you could crumble a graham cracker over top for a crust.
-hard sugar free candy that will last long in your mouth

Hope I helped!

Way to go for deciding to do this!! I know what you mean about the sweets, I love them. I allow myself to have something sweet once a week though, so I won't feel deprived.

Although, if this diet your on doesn't allow that you just have to buckle down and show some self-discipline. Go two weeks (I know it seems like a long time, but it's really not) without your sweets and the cravings will virtually disappear. In fact, by the fifth day they will be almost gone.

When you eat sugar your insuline levels rise to break down the sugars. So after the insuline has broken it down, it is still there-wanting more sugar (so you crave it) SO...you must not eat sugar to get your insuline back into hiding so that you won't crave it so much.

GOOD LUCK!!

The regime that took care of my sweet tooth is Rachel and Richard Heller's Carbohydrate Addicts Lifespan Plan.
