Organic foods are not necessarily going to help with weight loss, but they are much healthier to eat. They usually taste better than foods with all the cancer causing pesticides, herbicides, and fungicides.

Organic foods and whole foods are the greatest. When you start eating healthier foods, your body will be nourished and you won't be craving the junk foods so much, so I would say, yes, they do help with weight loss. I know the only way I finally lost weight after many diets was when I decided to just eat healthy foods. My goal was health and weight loss was a welcome side effect. Good Luck. Y

Hello, I would say the down side would be the cost and short shelf life. The good side is that there are no chemicals or pesticides to deal with, they taste better since they are usually "tree ripened," and not irradiated. If you're talking about meat, the meat is usually a lot leaner. I can't wait for summer so we can grow our own organic vegies! My hubby's really good at gardening. The best part is that you can eat the skin of the vegies without that horrible wax. I always peal the store bought apples and cucumbers, because I'm never sure if they wax over the pesticide plus I don't like the texture of the wax. (I'm so spoiled.)Then when summer comes, I'm in a hurry for fall...I love the farmers' apples, because our local farmers don't wax the apples. I'd say you're better off to go "natural" or vegetarian or vegan, and find that you feel better and healthier than before too...I often wonder if someone were to eat too many preservatives, would they decay slower after they're dead and buried? (Just kidding.) Bon apitite!

I heard a story that in the Vietnam war,on the battlefields, the dead Vietnamese soldiers were decomposed and our dead soldiers were well-preserved. I don't know for sure if it's true, just something I heard and thought of again when I read your post.

This is the way to eat! I have tried many other ways of eating, but when I eat Organic/natural, I feel like I am giving my body what it needs!
Re: weight loss, I did have a cousin who switched to Organic and ate quite heartly and still lost 20 pounds.
