As everyone knows -all medications within individuals bodys results vary person to person .
I would still like some feedback on the average dose of Lamotrogine/Lamictal to control grand-mal seizures .
Thanks BAHAMAS

Hi,
I've been in hospital for 6 months and have just come out.
I'm on Lamotrogine 200mg and Respiridone 4mg (it was 6mg but it got reduced). I tried to go back on Lithium but it didn't work and my face burst into acne. Then Sodium Valporate which I hated as it made me feel dead inside. And then Aripripozole which did nothing for me.
But I like the way Lamotrogine irons out my highs and lows. It's a bit like living in a rubber band.
Apart from some occasional blurry vision it works ok for me.

I am on 200mg daily. My doctor told me that it is the theraputic dose for bipolar and depression. It is working very well so far.

Sorry I missed this before.
For an adult I was on 800/day (400 AM and PM using the "blue" 200's) with two other meds. Needless to say the levels were below where they should have been, especially at that dose.
I can't quickly find my material, but I believe 1200 or 1400 is close to MAX dose. Been a long time since I was on it.
One tidbit on this medication is to watch out for skin breakouts (looks like a rash) commonly on neck, and on the elbows, wrists, and joints like that. IF THAT SHOWS it is a big red flag to call your Dr... you may have to get off the med. Wearing non tight clothing also may help.
