I have an odd question for all of you :) . I have a condition that predisposes me to seizures (periventricular heterotopia or PH for short) but as far as I know I have never had one. I had an eeg done about a year ago to determine if I may be having them without knowing but the eeg came back normal.
Recently though, I've had this dream several times where I am picked up by a large scorpion-type creature and it stings me. I'm not afraid and it isn't particularly painful but it sends "shocks" from the back of my head down to my sacrum and I can't move. When I wake up I can still feel the sensation down my spine.
Several days ago, I was induced for a missed miscarriage and delivered in hospital (needless to say it was quite a stressful situation). I went home that night and woke up the next morning with a throbbing feeling in the back of my head and at my sacrum with a shock-like feeling going down my spine. I don't know if I couldn't move or if I just didn't try to because of the sensation (I wasn't entirely awake). Either way, I didn't move while it lasted (which was about a minute).
Obviously I have no idea what a seizure is like or if it causes sensations like I've described but is it possible to have a seizure, dream about it and wake up when it's over? Is this worth mentioning to my neurologist?
I've never had a dream where I "feel" anything before and definitely not one where I wake up still feeling oddly.
I'd appreciate any opinions :) . Thanks!
Love and Prayers, Kelly

Since you already have a neuro, I would mention this to him. Having a normal EEG years ago does not necessarily mean that you will not ever have any. In fact it is sometimes possible ot have normal EEG and have seizures, especially if you do not have a seizure during that EEG.
I cannot say that what you describe sounds like a seizure, but it is odd and needs to be looked into. My son has seizures in his sleep, but we know he has them by how impaired he is on waking....
