Thank you so much,

One of the only things that works for me is Relpax. I have tried just about everything as well. Relpax is for Migraines, so if you are having headaches everyday you may need to try a med that is taken daily as a preventative. I went to the doc several times to get answers as and was told it was from stress by nearly all of them. I would keep a food journal and pay atttention to possible triggers. Sometimes caffeine, perfume/colognes and bright lights cause them.

Relpax, Amerge, Frova and Maxalt have all worked for my migraines when OTC meds and narcotic meds didn't. Imitrex didn't work as well.

Maxalt worked for a while, isn't currently working for me though...topamax works well as a preventative for me.

I have had migranes for about 15 years now, generally 2-3 times a week and sometimes lasting for weeks.
When I was about 18 I was trying to find something that worked that didn't turn me into either a vegetable or a complete witch. After about 5 medications my doctor put me on a medication that is not typically used for Migranes, but for rheumatoid arthritis, called piroxicam. I took it for two years 1 pill every night as a preventative. In that two years I had one headache.
I stopped taking it because I began travelling with a musical production and couldn't get my perscription every where and still was without migranes for another 2 years or so. Then I began to get them again, one every few months with increasing frequency until I was back to 2-3 a week.
So at age 26, I went to my doctor (not the same one) and requested the same medication, (I am too much of a scaredy cat to try any of the new ones, I just don't trust the FDA right now) he had never heard of it's use in that manner but was willing to trust my experience and for a year now I have been back on it and have had 2 small headaches in the past year.
It is wonderful, although I don't know if it will work for everyone, it has been a life saver for me!!

He Infranne, Quick internet check on piroxican says new black box warning on that drug for serious potential increase in risk of heart attack and stroke and gi bleeding and it also says in side effects part kidney impairment is possible and I know there are some well publicized cases of famous athletes getting kidney damage from NSAIDS as piroxicam is and one Mourning had to have his kidney transplanted as a result. I have suffered from migraines since 1996.
For the past 2 years or so, I have taken Topamax daily, Vit B2 daily & Zomig as needed for my migraines.
The above combination has been working for me.

I used to find relief from maxalt, axert, zomig, etc. but many of these triptans don't work for me anymore. My dr. thinks I have built up a tolerance to them b/c I rely on them frequently. He said that changing from one triptan to another (variation) may help, but for the most part my current tolerance hurts my chances of relief via the triptans.

I have been on several different types of prescription meds for migraines but the thing that works best for me is the following combo:
Two Excedrin Migraine taken with Coke or something else with caffeine
A dose of dimetapp or one 25 mg. benedryl
resting with my eyes closed for about 30 minutes after taking all of this.
I do have to take it during the aura. If the pain has already begun it is too late for me.
For regular headaches which are not migraines I get relief from two Excedrin migraine and one or two sudafed.
Might be worth a try.

Hey, I'm 22 right now and started to suffer from migraines at the age of 19. I was put on Amitriptyline. It is a mild anti-depressant, which scared me at first, because I was sure I wasn't depressed. But sure enough, they worked. I have been on them ever since.
