No. People are so funny when they say something like this with no proof to back up their statement. I hear things like this all the time. "Well I heard...........it's hard on your kidney"
If you like Protein shakes then drink them. They are packed full of vitamins. Keep up your intake of water that is the best thing for kidneys.

consuming a lot more protein than you need can be taxing on your liver and kidneys, and is associated with kidney stones among other things. but that doesn't necessarily mean that a soy protein shake or whatever is bad in and of itself. it just means that if you're already getting adequate protein (say 50 grams per day, or so, depending on your age, height, weight, & activity level), you may not want to be "supplementing" that with additional protein via a protein shake. make sense?

i'm 16 and wiegh 143 and i uasly get around 80 grams a day is that to much, if not what is to much for my wieght a day

I think that's a pretty good amount, StoneTemple. It gives a fairly large safety margin and is high enough to support growth.

yeah, i agree with lenin. that sounds like plenty of protein for you, but not too much.
