My precious one is now in kindergarten. She has spent the last 2 years in a special education school. She academically is fine. It's her social skills and emotion skills that I'm concerned. She does have speech 1 time a week for 1/2 hour.

She is now 6. But she has a high pitched talking that reminds me of an 3 or 4 year old.

Any suggestions, with the high pitch (baby) talking???

Speech class should help, they taught Kyle that people want to hear his "Kyle voice" when in conversation, but it's fun to use his "play voice" when reading a quote, or playing with his stuffed animals. It took a while, mainly because he wasn't aware that he was doing it most of the time. But they just reminded him when he would get squeaky that they really wanted to hear his "Kyle voice" . HE adapted this voice to one of his stuffed animals, charlie. So when he would get squeaky, we used to say, "that sounds like Charlie, not my Kyle!" he would giggle, then correct himself.

My son has just started doing this in the past 2 weeks. It is very cute now because he just turned 4, but I worry that he is stuck in a rut with it. He is in speech therapy and I am hoping this will help him overcome it. I don't have any suggestions, but I will say D&K's mom is great and I would take advice form her anyday. Good luck to you and your sweet girl.

Awwwww geeeee, thanks! i needed that today! :D
