Hey guys,
My hubby has had type 2 for over 20 years. OB are very few but every couple of years he gets a patch of blisters on the back of his thigh. He has them now. My question is...is this shingles?Genital H that has just followed another nerve(can this happen?) Or would he have had to reinfect himself? Also If we have sex, is the virus active?Am I at risk? I hope someone can help! Thanks!!!!

Yes, h can travel down another nerve path and appear somewhere else. This could be h, so be careful. When I had shingles, it spread like wildfire until I got some meds from a dermatologist, and hurt like crazy all along my nerves. The sores seemed more severe and faster-moving than simplex. I'm not sure if my experience is the general experience, however.
