He's running a lot of blood tests but he's a former GI guy who returned to being an internist. He says he's seen lots of cases where chest heaviness and shortness of breath is common in GERD. I never considered that much because (except for pregnancy), I hardly ever had heartburn.

I have lots of other symptoms like fatigue (probably from my insomnia), waking up hot, lump in my throat and others so it may be thyroid or something totally unrelated. He put me on a month's worth of Avinex (sorry if the name isn't accurate but the bottle is upstairs). He told me to wean myself off of coffee and try this in the meantime.

Does anyone else have just these symptoms and get help from meds? This shortness of breath is really horrible. It's always here these days without much relief. TIA...

I have really bad shortness of breath. It is kind of like pressure causing shortness of breath. I also have a hot feeling in my throat. I also have a sore throat most of the time and the feeling of something in my throat.Along with this I have a burning tongue.

I don't know if all these things are related. I just recently had a scope down my nose and I don't know how far it goes down. He said everything looked fine.

I will be having an endoscopy done in Dec.

I have ended up in the ER with she shortness of breath a couple of times. Once They prescribed an inhaler and the next time I was told it was anxiety.

I take Pantoloc(a proton pump inhibitoR). I don't think it is working though. I shouldn't have this all the time.

I was diagnosed with Acid Reflux after the Barium Swallow I had done. I also have a hiatal hernia.

Burning tongue,throat and shortness of breath, with the pressure feeling. Sometimes the feeling seems to start just at the bottom of my rib cage . It is uncomfortable just at the top of my stomach too.(kind of in tune with the shortness of breath).

Has anyone had there symptoms? Was glad to get back to the board and read your post.

Does anyone know of the GERD Symptom List? I think there was one posted at one time. I would really like to see it again.
