View Full Version : Epilepsy, Seizures or What?

Sometimes I wonder about what people tell me I have, but then again I do go to college with people who are wanting to be RN's or doctors, so I was talking to this woman earlier, telling her what had been going on with me, and she said that what was happening had happened to her friend before he had two seizures and found out he had epilepsy. Right now I've had three blackout kinda things that my doctor calls seizure activity, and after one of them I couldn't speak. I don't know if my other symptoms would go with this, but a short version of them are weight loss, spasms, back pain, flare ups, headaches, arm weakness, nausea, fatigue, a new one where I get dizzy and it's like I'm not even there (happened tonight at rehersal), and a bunch of other ones that may or may not go with this, but I just thought I'd give the basics. If anyone knows of what this could be, I'd appreciate some help, because I'm about to go back to my doctor if I don't get to feeling better in a couple of days.

Appreciate the help!

Have you had an EEG, or other neurological testing? Sounds like you need to get to the bottom of this. There are a lot of disorders than can cause similar symptoms, and getting the right diagnosis and treatment is critical.... I'd insist on getting some neurological work-up.... :)

I've had an EEG, but the doc is taking too long to get back to me. I go to a clinic-type place where the doctors are only used to colds, the stomach flu and maybe broken bones, but are not really good with neuro, so he probably doesn't even know what to make of the EEG. He wants to send me to a neurologist that's 4-7 hours away (I forget how far), but with gas prices, I doubt that I'll get to go. But I'll do what I can (which is what I've been doing, so far) to get to the bottom of this, because I don't want whatever this is to get out of control, and I can already feel that it's starting to.

Thanks,

Missy
