I once heard that when you don't get enough protein in a certain day or in a certain meal that you crave sugar...is this true?
I figure it might be true b/c yesterday I ate a bagel with cream cheese for lunch (and usually I have something with more protein in it) and before dinner I was craving sweets like crazy. Just curious if anyone else has had a similar experience or has heard anything about this.

It is true that carbohydrates release insulin into your blood stream that spike your energy and also spike your appetite. It was probably the insulin that made you crave more carbs. Whole grain carbohydrates cause a slower and steadier release of insulin so whole grains tend to cause fewer/less devestational cravings.
