Hi there,
I was at work 3 days ago and my face/ears and neck became extremely red and my co-workers were concerned and told me to check my blood pressure (we have one of those machines). I did, and it read 178 over 103. The pharamicist told me to go sit down for 10 minutes and come check it again. I did, and it went down to 167 over 98. They sent me home. I made an appointment w/ my doctor and was perscribed Propranolol. Today is my second day on this pill. I was planning, for weeks, on going to a friends Birthday party where there will be drinking. I was wondering if anyone knows if it would be ok to have some beers while being on this pill? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you:)
Wanted to add that I am 27 yrs. old/female/smoker/drinks once in a blue moon/approx. 30lbs over weight. Wanted to add this incase it made any type of difference:P
~Peace~

Hahaha Lenin....I'll be working on quitting
Thanks so much for the reply. I feel much better now, I was worried that something would happen because I looked it up on the internet and it said that Propranolol and alcohol are dangerous together. Now, I will be able to enjoy myself.
Thanks again! Take care:)

Just be a little careful. Beta-blockers intensify ones reaction to alcohol. Been there myself and found it sorta sneaks up on ya.
Have fun - but be careful.

If you haven't already you should consider exercise at leas a few times a week. You are still young and now is the time to get that habit going. It will help with the quitting smoking and also the weight. Take a real look on the internet at what smoking can do to you. You will be suprised at what it effects besides your lungs.
