Hi...I am taking a beta blocker for anxiety and am wondering how I would know if my bp is getting too low? Other than having it checked at the doctor I mean. I haven't felt any dizziness or lightheadedness since I've started it. I'm taking a very small dose, 25 mg a day. Thank you!!

Hi,
25 mg is what I take..you might want to invest in a bp monitor...they are not too expensive...go to rite-aid...wal-mart...walgreens..cvs..they all have good ones...range from about $50-100. I take toprol for anxiety and to slow my heart rate to lower my bp...works in conjunction with my bp med. the jury is still out on what's really wrong with me...going for a stress test and echocardiagram soon. good luck.

camtorrres,

The only way to tell if your BP is low is to measure it! How has your sleep been since taking the beta-blocker?

Lenin~Actually it hasn't been that great. I wake up a lot. Do you think that is a side effect of the beta blocker? I went to the drugstore yesterday and took my bp...it was fine actually. I think my worrying about it is part of why I'm not sleeping so well.
