Hi ladies, well I am back from my vacation from Germany and Jordan. I did get married and I am happily married. My husband will be joining me later. I felt pretty good in Jordan. It was hot and got my period there so therefore, I sweated like a pig. I felt healthier there and I can see why middle eastern women do not go through as we do, I think because of their foods and what they eat may be one of the reasons. Also the climate may play a role in it to. My sister began menopause around the same age I did, 43. She is using chastenberry. Anyone else using it here? She has good results from it for her hot flashes, mood swings, etc. I am thinking to take it with prozac or maybe stop the prozac, not sure what to do here. Anyways, it's been hard getting back to the routine, jet lag and then caught a major cold. Hope all is well with everyone

Well I had to take a xanax earlier in the day when i first began to travel, the anxiety was so so bad and of course it was less than a week away before my period would begin. I took nothing on the plane, seats were uncomfortable, germany was ok, not to nice to americans and then off to jordan and it was the best of the trip. came back and was really ancy on the plane, took a xanax on there but it didn't seem to really do much, i just couldn't wait to land in chicago. was depressed to that i had to leave my husband. really, he is the best and is totally understanding. i couldn't have found anyone better. thanks for being there for me, rmc. i really used ur support.

Hey Andrea,
Congratulations to you and your hubby! Wishing you both happiness, good health! That's amazing trip you went on - I could never make a trip like that...with or with meds even! You sound like you're feeling pretty good tho!
Overall, how have you been with the peri symptoms?

my peri-symptoms come and go. the nervousness stays with me most of the time with my hormones and i know this coz i can feel it related to my missed periods and when my period comes. So really I am just hanging in there with the rest of you guys. Will see my gyne on Wednesday and we will discuss more. Have you tried or researched chastenberry herb? My sister is having good luck with it. But if she doesn't take it, she goes crazy with hot flashes, sweats and mood swings. I welcomed her to our gatherings here. Maybe she will join us soon.

Andrea,

I am just reading your post to me about your plane ride experiences. I so relate as just traveling back East to visit from the West coast at Christmas time I take a xanax to get me thru the first leg of our trip. I can't imagine taking as long a trip as you did and so you should really pat yourself on the back and feel good that you did it!! Good for you!!

I am sure it is so hard to be apart from your husband as it would be for me. My husband is as you describe yours, very understanding thru this all and I don't know how he deals with me and my peri craziness at times. So we are both fortunate to have that support. I am glad you have that and I think it will be a big help to you as I know it is to me.

I am on day 71 I think without my period so far and the longest I have gone so far. Anxiety and feeling down have been the two symptoms at the moment (and both for no reason at all) that have been knocking at my door. It is totally a hormonal feeling and as I said not for any other reason than that. I am trying to repeat the mantra you taught me last year "It is PERI and it will PASS!! " Thanks , Andrea!!

Hope you are having a good Wednesday.

Take care,

rmc

oh i understand RMC, really I do. I just left my gynes office today for my annual pap and we were going thru my symptoms which are basically the same, more or less on this board and she said, yep, that's premenopause. She was really comforting, so glad she understands. And being she just had an hysterectomy, she understands even more. She said if it got really bad, the hot flashes, i could start up the progesterone again, but she would rather me not since taking it too much cozed my breasts to become so fybrocistic. AFter I stopped the progesterone creme, my breasts went back to normal. So I am basically doing the prozac, would like to switch to something else now, feel like i need something else, but i will wait a bit longer, kind of scared to play with drugs. And of course, I have my xanax, and it's someting i want to pop lately getting back from this trip, really that's how I feel. missing 71 days is pretty long and that's a definite answer you perimenopause. Who knows', maybe one day you lose it all together and instead of chanting it's peri, you will be chanting, IT'S ONLY MENOPAUSE, LOL
