Good morning.

I had my Paxil cr increased on Friday from 12.5 to 25mg. I have felt shakey and really nervous since then. Is it normal to feel a little worse when your meds are increased?

Thanks, deb

i always found it was lie starting them all over when the dr. raises the dosage.

That's what I was thinking. When I wake up in the morning my legs are so shakey it's hard to walk down the stairs. I feel like I am gonna jump right out of my skin. I haven't had a full blown anxiety attack but I feel like it's waiting in the wings.

Thanks, deb

Paxil made me feel like this the entire month I took it. I started at the same dose you did and increased to the same dose you did. I couldn't take it anymore and my doctor stepped me down and off over about a week..then I went through an entire month of withdrawal (pure hell). I'm glad I'm off and I'll never take it again. I (of course) wish a better outcome for you, but at least you know this can happen.

Thanks Srmom,

I am hoping it will work. Regular paxil helped me in the past that's why I am hopeful. I feel a little better this evening so I guess I will see what tommorow brings. My worst med ever was effexor xr. The first dose made me severly anxious and depressed. I couldn't function at all. It had the opposite effect on me.

I guess everyones chemistry is different.

Thanks...deb

Hi deb:

Paxil CR is supposed to give you more consistent medication throughout the day, wheras Effexor (with a very short half-life) does not, and you start feeling withdrawal if you don't take it at the same time every day. Glad to hear you're feeling a little better, that is good news!
