am kinda new to the board i got tested for hiv with the orasure test and am really stress i get my results thursday am really worried how do u stop thinking about it so much i don't know what to do :(

Dear don'ttrust - look if we could answer that question, then we'd bottle it and give it away for free. I think it would help it you realized that you are not alone in this and that almost everyone who posts here has been through what you're experiencing now at least once before. So, you've stumbled onto a great group. Secondly, you also need to know that no here judges you. We are all here because we have been through and have some knowledge about this disease.

As for the anxiety, know that you have done the very best thing you can do to alleviate all the anxiety - you got tested! If you can manage to focus on something that brings you joy or satisfaction (not to escape the anxiety but only to put it into perspective) that sometimes help. Buddhists call this "moneky mind" and it is when you mind keeps jumping around from idea to idea without being able to focus. The point is to get rid of "monkey mind". Epsicopalians call this "pain in the butt". It's the same thing as monkey mind only little more scatalogical.

Hang in there. And, please, whatever the results let us know. There are those of who were tested and came back "positive" and other who's results are "nagative" and whatever your results are we want to be there for you. chris

Donttrust, I know that if you really think about it you can find something creative to do that will keep you busy while waiting. If not, my car needs washing, lawn needs mowing and carpets need cleaned. If none of those work for you how about you just keep posting here and we will do our best to ease your mind.
