Hey guys, well im a 19 year old male and over the past 10 months or so I went from 215 to 165 pounds and this is where I want to stay for good. I lost the weight just by cutting back on my total calories, but not starving myself. I ate healthy foods and I exercized 4 to 5 times a week which included cardio and weight lifting. Now, I want to stay at around 165, but what should I do now to prevent gaining weight back? I would like to start eating more normally. (By this I mean if my family is having pasta, i can join them instead of cooking up some veggies for myself) But im definetly not going to revert to my old eating habits which included multiple servings, fast food alot, and almost an addiction to coke and pepsi. I am still going to keep my same workout regimine I had while I was trying to lose weight but I was just wondering if anybody has any tips for me. Thanks so much

Definitely keep working out, add weights if you aren't already, they boost your metabolism for life. What has happened to your body the past 10 months is that it has become used to your reduced calorie diet. More than likely you had to reduce your calories more than once to keep losing weight. So, just do the opposite. Add calories back in gradually. Keep excercising, use this to gurantee that you will not pack the weight back on. Gradually, at maybe 100 calories every week or so, depending on what you're at now and what you plan on eating and how often, untill you can eat "normally" again. If you haven't been gaining weight your body has been adjusting to the extra fuel it's been getting, just as it likely did while you were trying to lose weight. When your body is used to consuming more calories, it will not be devestational when you have the occasional carbo-loaded pasta night.
