Well it happened again.....Friday night this time it was different from the others. We (me and my little girl) were feeling really tired so we put on our jamas well l did she only had the bottoms on and thought she had the jama top on only she didnt and was confused dizzy and weepy l didnt know what was comig next l thought she was just really tired l put her to bed and went into the bathroom she followed me and was saying things like 'why am l outside the bathroom what am l doing etc etc l still never clicked what was about to happen so l put her in bed (near mine) told her to go to sleep and 10 mins later she raised herself up on her arms her head went back and her eyes rolled around all over!! her eye lids tinged blue she wasnt shaking that l could tell just her head jerking slowly her arms were stiff my reaction was to lie her down mother instinct but she was so stiff then l remebered that you leave them unless there in danger she did not vomit with this seizure although l heard a few 'gagging; type sounds this only lasted approx 40/45 seconds , a few mins later we asked her if she was ok and she said 'yes' smiled and went back to sleep this is so bloody hard its cruel!!! Does anyone know what type of seizure she might of had? We are due at the hosp 3rd Oct when l will tell the doc Thank you all so much for your sharing and time xx

I am so sorry she had another one....please write this all down in a notebook. Keep a journal of this to tell the doctors , it really helps since it is easy to forgeth things under the stress of an appointment.
It is hard for me to know what kind it is for sure....sounds like a complex partial with the movements and stiffening, I would think. They can secondarily generalize and that can be the jerking and the stiffened part(called tonic)...
I hope the apt helps figure this out!

Niecey, Lip smacking can be part of partial seizures, BUT it can also be a "normal" part of sleep and not be anything to worry about! So confusing, isn't it! try doing a search with epilepsy 101 in it, you should get good information.
I would say, TRY not to worry about every little thing you see as a possible seizure, unless you see that it leaves her impaired afterward. Is she waking ok, most of hte time? Is she functioning ok?
Hang in there!

I'm so sorry she had another one. Yes it is so very hard. My daughter, Bonnie, hasn't had a bad seizure like that in a while, I remember what they are like and it is so hard. Hopefully you will get some answers on the 3rd.
Bonnie use to smack a lot and she also stuttered when she was younger(she is now 15). I don't know if they were seizure related or not. She has horrible moods when she has more seizure activity.
Best of luck
Debbie
