View Full Version : Read My Story and then Ask Yourself if Unprotected is Worth It

I just want everyone to know that having unprotected sex is not worth the risks. Read my story and tell me if afterwards you feel the same.

About 3 months ago I started dating this one girl. Things started off going well and she told me very often that she did not like condoms. Well sure enough I made the stupid mistake of going along with this and used the unprotected pull out method. Things seemed ok at first until one day I noticed a burning sensation while urinating and a discharge coming from the tip of my penis. I was horrified and rushed to the doctor where within a couple of days I was diagnosed with Chalmydia. Now I had never once had these symptoms before so I confronted my girlfriend who admitted to the fact she had been having unsafe sex in the past with her ex who whoah and behold was having unprotected sex behind her back with several others. My jaw just dropped. The first thoughts that came to my head were "Oh My God!! Do I have HIV". Within a few days sure enough I experienced many of the symptoms several of you have experienced such as fatigue, sore throat, muscle aches etc. Finally after many long talks with friends I gathered up the courage to get tested. After all I decided the worst position I could be in was to not know my status. To make matters worse however my girlfriend missed her period. Now she had just restarted taking the pill and had experienced spotting for 3 weeks so we thought it might be pill related. She took 6 urine pregnancy tests over the next month all negative and 1 doctor's blood test which came back negative. However she still insisted that she was pregnant and much to my amazement the doctor did confirm this. Now I am sure any of you who read this now are anxious to know what happened. Well I never did get called back from the clinic where I was tested and it has been well over a month so it is safe to assume I am negative. They said they would call me if they found anything. As for the pregnancy she ended up miscarrying. After experiencing this all i can say is for any of you who like to have unprotected sex with people you don't know well...DON'T DO IT!!! Its not worth the stress. You do not want to go through what I have. If you get the urge to try it please think it through. Don't put yourself at the risks I have.

Of course you'r right and whether the stress is worth it not is up to each individual to determine for themselves. However, not hearing from the lab does not mean that you are HIV-. It only mean that you have been notified. You need to call the lab and find out for sure what your status is. I mean, what if they lost your lab work, or forgot to call, or misplaced your results. If your going to take control, it means taking control of all of it not just that parts that make you feel better...chris

Yeah, I have to agree with this. Thank you for sharing your story with us all... I certainly pray that your "no news" is indeed "good news".

God bless.

Well to follow up I decided to give the clinic a call today and see if my results are in. To my amazement after 4 weeks they were still not in. The receptionist told me that it can sometimes take 4 to 6 weeks for the results to come in and that they only call if the person is positive. On the bright side however she did say that since these tests are not done anonymously if a postive result is found they do rush the results back to the person.

Well, yes, that is promising. Keep us posted.

Here is the final update of my story. I received a call this morning from the clinic. When I saw their number on my phone my heart started racing as they had said they would only call me if it came back positive. Well I decided I had to face the music for my own stupidity and I answered the phone to get my results. Well to my surprise and my relief it came back negative. I want to thank you Chris for convincing me to follow up abd you too Spectacular for your support. i sure do not want to go through this ever again. At least it is over now.

Thanks Chris and Cali. Although Chris as tempting as your suggestion is that I go eat a gallon of chocolate ice cream is I just decided to get back to my normal routine which includes working out every day.
