View Full Version : I hate my teeth!

HI all,

I think I have had a problem with teeth since I was born! Actually, I was born without quite a few permanent teeth, so at the moment I still have 4 baby teeth in my mouth. I am 21 years old and was told by a dentist some years ago that these baby teeth will eventually fall out. I already have huge gaps at the side of my mouth because I`m missing so many teeth. Around two years ago I was told a course of treatment - braces for two years then implants - all costing around $10,000!! Well, of course I have no where near that sort of money.

Just recently I have been feeling pressure when I eat on the left side of my mouth, between a permanent tooth and a baby one - what could this be a sign of? The teeth I have are very healthy and when I look there I can`t see if one is getting black or is falling out. As you can imagine I am very scared because I have had problems with my teeth all my life.

Is anyone in a similar situation? Can you offer me any advice? And also, what can I eat to keep my teeth healthy?

Thanks so much in advance.

Hi, have you thought about getting a second opinion? And let them know you need a more affordable option? Implants are really expensive, but I know there is probably another way you could go. Plus I have heard on this board that a lot of people try the dental schools. Might check that out as it's less expensive. Wish I could be of more help. Best of luck, Betty
