ok this is kinda complicated so bare with me please. Since i was 14 i have been having grand mal seizures once a month during my period,I have tried every anti convulsant they make and even had a vns implant (to stop seizure) none of that worked so feb of 2004 i talked my reg doc in to putting me on the depo provera shot to stop my periods it worked and it also stopped my seizures that is until last week when i had a grand mal at work so my doc sent me to see an obgyn who after explaining all this to her wants to put me on depo lupron for 6 months then do a complete histerectomy (sp) . I am married and have 3 kids and me and my husband do not want anymore children hes had a vasectomy so thats not really an issue i guess at 24 it just really scares me any one have any advice?

Hi
If this is all caused by your period and is putting your life at risk, I would DEFFINATELY have the surgery done. !!
Your life and health is more important

jessiebelle,
have you made your decision yet?
doesn't your husband agree that you should have this done?
I understand your concern of being so young and having to go right into full blown menopause, but you can take the hormone replacement therapy.
some are afraid of the risks but you have to be more diligent with certain annul exams.
I wouldn't want you to risk your life either and you've already had your family.
your family needs you.
why are they waiting for six months to have the surgery?

ok i guess what i didnt make clear was there is no gaurentee with this surgery. it could make my seizures worse than they all ready are this is a very complicated situation. they are waiting 6 months because they have me on lupron depot injections i got my first one wed. and have felt horrible ever since. no i havent made a disision yet if we knew this would work it would be a simple answer but like i said i have 3 kids to take care of and that is my number one concern

You are in a tough spot. If they couldn't guarantee the seizures to stop it would be hard to make the choice.
As far as age. I am 24 and had my hysterectomy in April. I am ever so glad that I did. I took hormones for a couple of months then stopped them. I haven't had any problems at all. I am very glad I had my done. I don't have a sex drive but I didn't have that before the surgery.
