I'm wanting to lose fat (from waist down), and gain muscle and get toned. I weigh 135 (5'4" tall) and would liek to get down to 120.
I've made an eating plan out and I just wanted to know if it would be alright?
Breakfast:
1 cp oatmeal with 2 tsp. sugar
1 banana
1 apple
6 oz. grapefruit juice
or
2 scrambled eggs
3 pieces of bacon
1 apple
6 oz. grapefruit juice
Snack:
1 8oz. nonfat yogurt
1 pear
Lunch:
1 cp salad with 2 tblsp cheese and 2 tblsp dressing
1 cp kidney beans
1 apple
Snack:
1 8oz. nonfat yogurt
1 pear
Dinner:
1 can of chicken noodle soup
1 cp green beans
1 apple
and of course I will be drinking lots of water.
My exercise plan consists of:
30 min of stationary bicycle riding daily
The Firm (without weights)
Tae-Bo (3 days a week)
I'd greatly appreciate it if anyone could provide their input :)

Looks like your focusing on primarly cardio. Imagine you are pear (take no offense) and you focus just on cardio. By the end you will just look like a smaller pear. Weight lifting helps tone the body, improves fat burning even after workouts, and gives you that long lean look most women try to acheive. Don't pay attention to the scale, muscle weighs more than fat, but looks a lot better. There are a lot of 12 week programs out there that will suit you a lot better.

Hello,
Thats a good start. But we can definately make some inprovement. My opinion (its just my own) is that your eating to many carbs and not enough protein. The easiest way to lose weight/fat is to cut carbs and eat smaller more frequent meals. In your case add atleast 32 more meals or split the 3 in 5. Everytime you eat your making your body do something (digest food, etc) and by simply doing this your body is burning calories. Therefore if you eat every 2-3 hrs your body is in a contact state of burning calories.
Here is a sample of what I eat.
6AM - Oatmeal, Cottage Cheese
9AM - Protein Shake + Apple
12AM - 2 Cans tuna + broccoli and low fat yogurt
3PM - Protein shake and 1/2 cup whole wheat rice
6PM - 2 chicken breasts + Salad + broccoli + yams
9PM - Protein shake + apple
11PM - Cottage cheese and cucumber.
Also cut out the bacon and try ham or turkey bacon. Also the sugar is really bad for you :)
Please feel free to ask any questions.

i agree w/ the post above.
you should eat protein in every meal if u are trying to build muscle, but it also helps w/ apetite control so u don't end up eating more cals than u should.
also, u need to do weights to increase muscle. cardio is primarily fat buring, not muscle gaining.
i would personally lose the juice cuz its just sugar. the real fruit at least contains the fiber. cut out fatty foods like bacon, and try to eat whole foods (unprocessed)
a popular 12 week program is body for life. just go to any bookstore.
