Has anyone had SI joint injections without the steroid in it, just the numbing agent, and if so did it help?

Also how many of these injections do you have to have?

I am supposed to have SI joint injections done, but am allergic to steroids and wonder if it is even worth my time to try this.

Without the steroids you will only get a few hours, maybe up to 36 hours, of relief. It isn't worth the time, pain, or money. If your dr. suggested this, I would find another doctor.

The neurosurgeon I went to see yesterday suggested this. I told him I was allergic to steroids and he said oh well they can still put in the numbing agent.

Can someone please tell me what kind of dr does the SI joint injections? Are they done in the hospital or in an office?

Should I try another neuro or a orthopedic surgeon, or look for a pain management dr?
