Sponsor sara435 07-14-2003, 08:02 PM Hummus is a great food, it's baisically made up of mashed chickpeas and tahini, which both have a lot of fiber and protein. There is some fat but the it's the kind that's good for you (nonsaturated) because it doesnt come from animal products. Overall it's a pretty nutritious food. ------------------ Sara Magpiezoe 07-15-2003, 12:47 PM Hello, You have to read the label or make your own. Some hummas contains mayo. It also depends on what kind of diet you're on, because it's a good choice in some diets and others it's a no no. ------------------ Magpie chopstix_gal 07-15-2003, 01:22 PM if u really like it that much, make your own. the store bought ones have a lot of oil added. i made my own and sustitue the oil for more lemon juice or just plain water. i can't even taste the difference w/o the oil. there will be some fat anyway, from the tahini ingredient. |
