It hasn't even been a full month yet and already I am having problems remembering from one day to the next where I gave yesterday's Forteo injection. Sheesh! When I was giving myself just the vitamin B12 injection weekly I never had trouble remembering which thigh I had given it in the week before but now .... with 8 injections a week, 7 Forteo and 1 B12 I can't remember from one day to the next where I injected that last one!!!!
At this rate "they'll be coming to take me away, ha! ha!, they'll be coming to take me away"
:dizzy: :bouncing:

You've got a good sense of humor about all those injections!! I just rotate from left to right and then the middle. Most of the time I can't tell either.

Crohnie Too,
I'm like taape. I try to rotate from one leg to the other and switch from the outside to the inside. For some reason I seem to have the most trouble with the inside of my right leg. Can't seem to get the angle right or something and it generally hurts more than other places. Still haven't gotten up the nerve to try the stomach. I really don't think it matters if you don't switch sides everytime. Sometimes I don't remember which one I did last either.

Oh my gosh, no. I cannot ever member night to night which side I should be on unless I have a small bruise, etc. from the evening before. I only use my abdomen and I even have down pretty good where it will hurt and where it won't but remembering is quite the task. The needles are so tiny that I don't think it is that important as we are probably healed up from the night before (I take injection in evening). I figure after time if something looks strange, I will change my pattern, for now, I can't worry too much as I would have to write it down.....

I usually use the abdomen and I aim for a spot that isn't bruised. I don't bruise that often, but sometimes I have a black and blue mark that I try to avoid. I don't think about it much. I haven't seen anything that looks like skin degrading from too many shots.

I give my shots on the left on odd days and on the right on even days. It works well except when there are 31 days and then I just do two days on the left.

Jone - what a great and simple idea, that of course I did not think of, thanks for the information. I am going to use that schedule too!!

Not a bad idea at all. So simple. You would think that I would have thought of it since I already have TWO medications that have one dose on odd days and a different dose on even days. Duh!!!! Thanks, Jone! Ah, if only everything in life were that simple.
Goshes, I was surprised to read so many mention bruising! I am on warfarin (coumadin) for a DVT (deep vein thrombosis - blood clot) in my left upper arm and I don't bruise from either the Forteo or the B12 shot. Makes me wonder if I really am on a adequate dose of the warfarin at times.

I consider myself lucky if I remember to give myself the shot every night!
I do try to alternate legs, determining which one is the one I used last by scanning them for the freshest-looking bruise or needle mark; but sometimes I don't have any mark at at all. I also try to vary the location of the injection site on the leg: inside, outside, high, low, but it just gets too complicated for my addled brain.
I think that if I avoid injecting right into a bruise of any color, I'm o.k.
Jone, I love your idea about odd-even days! Will institute that schedule tonight!
