The South Beach Diet calls for Vegetable or Tomato Juice with your breakfast. I really dislike both of them so much. Does anyone know if there is an alternative? Can I just have a vegetable instead or is there a reason why it is a juice? I appreciate any help.

My advice would be to to use a diet that has foods that you like. The Atkins diet really works for me. In fact no juice is allowed on it. Very easy to stay on with foods most people like and enjoy, it works, and my health has improved immensely since being on it. :)

You don't have to have the juice. I happen to like it but, if I ran out then I just wouldn't have it that day or days.
Actually, my question about this diet when I first started was.......do I have to follow the meal plans, etc. Well, obviously the answer is no as I didn't and I continue to lose (currently 15lbs). I just paid attention to the short sheet that says foods to enjoy and foods to avoid. Sure, once in a while I made some of the recipes but, not very often.
