Well I am not sure if I am on the right board but since I could not find one pertaining to "menstruation" here I am. I am 34 yrs old and for the past 6 months or so I have been experiencing horrible mood swings. It seems to be happening just after my period is overwith or almost overwith. Would early menopause cause this? I eat pretty healthy. I can pretty much tell it's hormonal but it seems to be getting worse. I am extremely emotional, mood swings are bad, and my mind isn't functioning like it normally does. I want to pick a fight with everyone. It's almost as if I have depression!! But then suddenly, after a few days, it's gone as fast as it appeared. What could this be? I do take meds for thyroid but last checked it was fine. It has been fine for years. No changes. I am also diabetic taking Lantus, which I did find odd that my mood swings seemed to have began when I started the Lantus insulin. Any ideas would be appreciated. :bouncing:

HI. It could be early meno, but I am a visitor from the thyroid board. I guess you must know that "normal" labs for thyroid do not mean the numbers are normal for you....you may want to recheck your FT4, FT3 and TSH and the antibodies for the thyroid autoimmune diseases as well. If you post on the thyroid board, they can help you figure them out a bit....thyroid give many, many similar and vague symptoms! Hope this helps. Pixiek
