I saw my ob/gyn on Monday, and she said that based on my symptoms, I am in Peri.
I am 39, and was on the pill since I was 18. Went off the pill at 36, and soon after, my peri symptoms began - and got much worse recently.
She is putting me back on the pill to see how I feel, which is fine with me - I'll try anything!
Has anyone else tried the pill to help with peri symptoms?
Thanks so much for your feeback... Juli

I have been on Aviane (low dose bcp) for about 1 1/2 months - for peri symptoms - irregular and heavy periods among other things! So far it has worked wonderfully - I feel so much better!
I am 47 and have been going through peri for a few years, was getting much worse this last year. I tried natural prog. cream for about 6 months with no success.

I've been taking OrthoTriCyclen Lo for peri symptoms for the past two months. I have had breakthrough bleeding and started my period before the pack of pills was finished both times. On Sunday I am starting another brand of pills, although I can't remember which brand the dr. said, but they contain a little more estrogen-hopefully to control the breakthrough bleeding.
I can't say if it's helping yet-all I know is that the first month I was on them, last month, I had the worst cramps I've ever had in my life, and pretty heavy bleeding. This month, although it's early, the period is more normal and lighter-I'm just getting it before I should.
Good luck-the pills will probably help you.
