View Full Version : Re-herniation following MED L4-L5

All-

I was hoping someone else may have experience what I have. I had an MED 7 weeks ago and the pain didn't go away and I have had new symptoms (tingling, slight burning sensation). The pain has decreased since surgery however, though slowly. I am currently taking neurontin.

I went it for an MRI and follow-up today and the doctor found a smaller herniation in the same place. He suggested he operate as soon as possible to avoid the scar tissue hardening as it would make recovery harder. Since I have been getting better slowly and since this herniation is smaller, I asked about doing an epidural and he said it is worth a shot but wanted to schedule the surgery anyway as we scheduled it for 3 weeks from now.

Any advice on (a) second opinions (b) alternate treatment options I should try (c) timing of your recovery, etc.. would be a God send.

Thank you,

Mike
