Helloooo ladies. Thought I would send this out to anyone as curious as I was. I just had my 1st leep yesterday. I am 25 yrs old, was told I had a bad Pap that showed Stage 3 dysplasia. I had a Colposcopy, and still came back Stage 3 (CIS III, I belive it is ). So a LEEP was scheduled a couple weeks later. I was frightened as all probably are. I usually am not this nervous about going there, but for some reason this time had me shaken. So, I show up, undress using a crappy paper thing for legs. The nurse put a sticky large bandage looking thingy on my upper thigh. Said this was a "ground" (EEEEEEK, SKEERED ME). They using electrics so guess they had to do this. Than had to do the usual waiting for doc game, while I read the LEEP pamphlet, and looked around at all the nasty tools the leave for me to panic about. Looked like about the same items as the colpo had. Doctor comes...re goes over the last results with me. The nurse came in to help him. He gave me some warnings like the pain shot that he was going to give me down there would maybe make my heart race, and not to panic, but to take some deep breaths. So, he opens up the area w/ that uncomfortable thing they use for a Pap, except this felt even more uncomfortable. Maybe it felt larger I think. Just felt more of a pinching was all. He sorta looked around again, and than told me the shot was coming. I honestly didn't even feel a shot, but my HEART went bazooka. It was racing sooo bad, I thought it might jump right on out. This lasted about 3 minutes, till I finally could relax again. Which was nice cuz I was more relaxed than ever after that. I just closed my eyes, and tried to think of something nice. I let my legs relax completely, more than normal, cuz I was already uncomfortable enough, and didn't want that fun leg shaking to start. Doctor was asking nurse for items to use. I didn't feel anything he was doing. But they had a couple things goign on. First they had a machine hooked up that sucked out smoke..GROSS I KNOW...but it has to. Than when he doing the job, the piece of machinery he was using sounded just like a dentist drill. He forwarned me of all this..and he was exactly right about everything. It did sorta hurt a lot more than usual when he took out that clampy thing they use. He did it really slow, and warned me it would hurt. It only took maybe 10-15 minutes at the most. Than I was able to sit up. He said everything looked to have gone really well. And he explained to me usualy they can do one swoop with the leep thingy that he was using, but that my dysplasia was way on top, and way on the bottom, so he had to do two swooshes. Than he cotonized it (I think thats what he called it), and it all sorta folded over and back into place...so if anything was missed, it should be taken care of. OKAY YA'LL good luck to you. I can tell you this wasn't too bad. Not a fun thing at all, but bearable. AFterwards, I drove myself home in traffic. Cramps began to start...but was less pain than my period. I just went home, and laid down cozy. Woke up feeling fine. Some bleeding, nothing like a bad period day though.. aDn doc said atleast 4 weeks for sex. Results will be back in 2 weeks. and thats when i do my check up .... TA TA AND BE SAFE!

How are you feeling now that it has been about a day since you had it done? I really can't say I had a good experience. For me it hurt REALLY bad. I am a tough cookie. The colposcopy was nothing. It didn't hurt at all. The shot for this was even ok, but when the doctor started removing i guess parts of my cervix, it hurt so bad that I started crying. I couldn't help it. I was in so much pain and I was so upset because I was told, by the dorctor, that it wouldn't hurt. That whole day I felt terrible and for the next few days too. I had it done last friday and I am still not able to get comfortable. At night I toss and turn a lot because it is still hurting. As for the light bleeding, I STILL have not had any bleeding or discharge. I don't know if that is a bad sign because I was told that there would be some bleeding and the discharge would start immediately. I am really thinking about getting a new doctor because I am starting to think that mine sucked after reading so many people say that the pain from this was tolerable. Let me know how you are doing.

Ya, I am as good as new really. It sorta hurt to sit all day at work, I just felt like I was squishing to hard on it or somthing...but not really painful. I 've had very little bleeding, but w/ the colpo, I didn't either until 3-4 days later the bleeding came in spurts. Nothing hurts me now though, and I just trying not to do anything major, like picking up heavy stuff, or excersing. Regardless if your doctor is doing the right thing or not...if your not completely comfortable, I would suggest going to another. My doc pretty good and comforting, and honest. I cannot say they doing something wrong, cuz everyone is different...but I just don't think it should have hurt that bad, nor still. Have you called to speak to ur doctor afterwards about the problems your having now. Good luck, keep me informed. how old are you may I ask?

I am only 21. My doctor told me that I would be uncomfortable for a while. She basically said that it would be just like the cramping you get when you have your period. I don't get cramps though so I guess maybe that is why I am still hurting. I am normally not a big baby, but I have been through this. I haven't called my doctor at all. I have been thinking about it, but I am not in so much pain to where it is unbearable. At the time of the procedure, it was unbearable. As for calling the doctor, I am going to call my old doctor on Monday if im not feeling better. I had just moved to a new area when I got the results back from my pap, so I had to find a new doctor in my new area. I don't know... Hopefully it will all be ok.

UPDATE....its been 6 days now since my LEEP, and now I am bleeding a lot more. I have a few days of no bleeding, no pains. But now, it feels like a period, but I am not due for about 2 weeks. I wondering if maybe this made my period come early or something, cuz I finding this odd that its so much all of a sudden. And I have cramping a littlee bit, but still not quite like my normal period. I just don't feel all that good. Sorta a sour stomach feeling, and hot than chills. Not sure whats all related or if I getting an ulcer or something to do stress of some kind. Will keep updating if any changes.

Doctor said my bleeding very normal. I even broke down and asked about masturbating and having an orgasm, he uncomfortable as I was, said that would be okay, but he said ORal MIGHT get messy, I said, oh NO NO NO, i not doing that, lol. My test results came back, and said similar things as my biospsy did that it was CIS II, and III. I had two swipes on top and on bottom of cervix, and he said the bottom looked great w/ no margins, but the top showed it was really close to entering the canal or something like that he said, so we just really need to check it a gain in 3 months and see what its looking like. He will check me again in two weeks for healing, than I go for the next pap in 3 months. He said it was REALLY goo that I came in as soon as possible cuz it was so bad b4. gosh, i hope this stays normal atleast for a while...I only 25 , and ain't too excited about a hyster anytime soon. Good luck to you all.

I had similar news. I had my Leep on 9/16 and got my results yesterday. They said it hasn't spread and is not invasive.
I am going back on 10/17 for my follow up and then another pap in December.
My only question is, why do a Pap? Why wouldn't you get the vinegar out and see if you see any bad cells also? I mean, the pap is kind of a crap-shoot in detecting bad cells, so why start there? That is the only thing that confuses me.

Thats a good question..but I think if the pap isn't picking it up yet, than no rush or reason to run to do the more expensive checks. Thats my only thought on it. Glad yours was a good Leep results..whats invasive mean..is that what my doc was trying to tell me when he said it sorta looked like giogn up the canal?

Invasive means that it has spread beyond the lining. Like for CIN I, II and III/carcinoma in situ, the bad cells are kept in the lining. If it becomes invasive, then it is going to other parts of the cervix and will become Stage I - IV cancer.

Hmm, So You Think Thats What He Was Trying To Say It Maybe Looked Like To Him? He Said The Lower Swipe He Did Was Clear, But The Top Swipe Showed Clear Margins, But That It Was Sorta Maybe Inside ?

I really don't know what he means by that... it sounds like he just means that it might be on the part of the cervix that we can't see, not that it is invasive to the cells beneath the lining.

Hi polochic, I was just reading your post from the 14th. Last Tuesday I had to go to hospital to get abnormal cells removed and was told that I would be bleeding, like a period, and also have a blood stained discharge for a while afterwards.
Like you I have had nothing, no blood or discharge, and I find it a bit strange, especially since I bled quite heavily after the colposcopy and biopsy.

Update- had my two week post-op for my Leep. Doctor said it was healing better than average, but still 2 more weeks for any sex. booooo! but, looks good, I go back in 3 months for another pap. I hope to quit smoking by than too, since that doesn't help any.

:) Hey Malibu, I had my follow up appointment today. My doctor said that it was normal to not have bleeding. The Loop thing they use for it makes it not bleed I guess bc of the electrical current. Thats what I was told when I had it done at least because I thought the first day I would see blood. Anyways, my doctor said I am healing very well and everything is good. I did though start to bleed the 2nd week and she said that was normal. I hope your doing ok.

Hi polochic, funnily enough I have actually started to bleed now, 2 weeks later. I'm doing OK but I think I might have an infection as the discharge is still very watery and heavy and has quite a bad odour. I am so coming back as a man!!

I'm so confused as to what is going on with my body... I had my Leep 9/16. Had slight bleeding for the next week. Then my period came 9/23 (it was 4 days early which is weird) and it lasted for 8 days. It stopped 3 days ago and now this morning, I am bleeding again and it is almost like a period.
Do you think I am having my period again? Or is this just more bleeding from the Leep? It has been about 17 days since the Leep.

Well, I had Leep a few days b4 you, and period a little after you. I bleed for a week or so, and than thought I was having my period, but it wasn't. Than I stopped bleeding for 2 days, than I had my period on schedule. Not sure if that helps...but I am on day 22 after my Leep, and I just now think I am done bleeding from the Leep, and done from my period. So possibly yours seemed like your period, but wasn't, and now you are getting it a little late. See how the next couple days go, and let me know.

Well, I thought it was my period last time because I had cramps and bloating like usual. Plus, the heavier bleeding lasted for 8 days and then stopped.
But yesterday was a killer for me, the cramps were horrible. I am bleeding like crazy, much more than I usually do... I'm thinking maybe the Leep just messed up my cycle or something, but I'm not sure.
I think I will call my doctor tomorrow if it doesn't improve. My follow up appt is not until 10/17, so if things aren't better, I don't really want to wait another 12 days...
