View Full Version : Mad at My Absentee Husband

It seems like my husband chooses activities that keep him away from home. Even when I'm sick, he goes...to a ballgame, his mother's, etc. We have a 3-yr.old who loves his daddy. All this resentment and anger just build up, and when my husband comes home, I just blast him (out of earshot of our child.) I need help, because my anger is almost rage sometimes. It's only ever directed at him, though...no one else. Help!

Have you tried talking to your husband about this? If so, what does he have to say about it? How is he towards your son? Do you and your husband get along when he is at home?

Hi Jenn.......welcome to the boards. I'm sorry to hear you're having problems. I think the first thing you need to do is sit down alone with your husband and talk about whats going on. But make sure it's done in a loving way...........make sure you leave all your anger and resentment somewhere else. Share the feelings you are having by what he is doing to both you and your child. But like I said, please make sure you don't let your anger and resentment show, because if you do........I'm sure he's just going to walk out and it's going to be even tougher to get him to sit down the next time and try to work things out. Remember it takes two........so be prepared to hear him out. Good luck and let us know how things turn out.

Hey Jen ,

For what its worth, know that he still loves you, and you know he will appreciate you more when you lead your own life and allow him to live his own life as well.

Find some hobbies, activities, and pleasures that you enjoy doing that doesn't involve him. Make sure you take care of and spoil yourself everyday because you deserve it :).

I hope it gets better for you and your days are brighter in the future .
