View Full Version : Muscle spasms/cramps in calf

Hello,

I was wondering if someone could help me with this problem. About 6 days ago I had an accident with some glass that punctured my left calf. It was a very deep cut the tore into the muscle. I got it stitched up immediately after and had x-rays done to check for more glass and found none, but ever since the incident I've had terrible pain throughout my calf. I can't walk or stretch my leg fully open, it hurts too mcuh. I went to several doctors and they all tell me it is a muscle spasm that needs to be massaged/stretched away. I tried massaging it and stretching and applying hot and cold packs to the affected area but that has only made it worse. I also took muscle relaxants but those didn't help either. Could someone please give me a remedy for my problem and how long I could expect to wait before I can walk again?

Thank you very much.

Hi

You might get a better response in another section of the board. I would have done the same as you - Coild packs for 48 hours, massage and heat. The only other thing I can think of is a drug called quinate - I take it for muscle cramps
