Hi! I was scheduled to have a disc replacement at L4/L5 (degenerative disc, bulging and pressing nerves)..but my insurance will not pay for it...so I am looking into alternatives. I have been seeing alot of ads for Disc Decompression and was wondering if anyone out there has had this done...what exactly takes place...and if it was successful. I am beginning to look at all of my options at this point...any info would be greatly appreciated!
Thanks! Jac

I'm in the same boat. I have been thinking about the DRX9000 decompression machine. I was awake in the middle of the night in pain and they had a show on about a golfer that couldn't walk then he had the DRX9000 treatments and he is now golfing every day. the way I feel right now I will try any thing if it might help. I'm going to my doctor today and I'm going to ask if traction might help. It can't hurt.I hope. Epidural injections didn't help. Good luck. Here in Florida the doctors are giving free exams to see if the DRX9000 might help people.

There are a couple of threads on this board from people who have had or are now having the DRX 9000 treatments. Just do a search for DRX 9000 and you will find them ..

I too am seriously considering this , so if you decide to try it , please come back and let us know how it goes.

It is my understanding, based on my doctors findings and his research, that decompression is only a temporary treatment option for disc problems. It could work for several years and it could not work at all. I would do as much research as possible.

Good Luck
Phillip
