Instead of looking for something to take, consider getting rid of things that may be worsening your problem. Read about Infrared Sauna Therapy (And don't listen to the naysayers - it's been proven over and over that sweat contains toxins). This is not to start an argument simply to give you something to consider. Look very carefully at your diet, if your food is coming from a grocery store it is most likely laced with trace amounts of pesticides, not to mention the food additives your body has no need for. Detox your liver - lemon juice, pure bottled water (not tap water), Sam-e, milk thistle. There is an excellent book on the subject by Austrailian MD Sandra Cabot.
To think that you are going to find a pill to fix your problem is wishful thinking. Sure the "B" Vitamins are known for energy, but how much and which ones do you need? Read about ginsing (probably spelled wrong). But work on detoxing, just getting the crap out of your body will help you recover your energy. Complex issues need to be resolved from the ground up - throwing a pill - wether it is a drug or a vitamin or an herb on top of other problems is a STOP GAP - it helps the symptoms but does not address the cause. I like you wish there was a pill, but there is not. Nutrition is a complete process of many nutrients and no one nutrient will do the trick you need the full spectrum of vitmains, enzymes (often overlooked), minerals, pure water, and a detoxification plan.
Carlons fish oil is greath, Whey protein supplements wihthout artificial sweetners will help, anti inflamatories like Zyflamed (New Chapter) or another brand of tumeric or ginger can help. Think "whole" and you'll be on your way. Some of these will have to be taken during the middle of meals in order to avoid stomach problems.

Other than the Omega 3 Fish Oil, which I am taking 2 x 1000mg capsules 3 x day, when my thyroid broke down, I started off with 1000mg of Kelp .. in a capsule ..
MAKES A HUGE DIFFERENCE!!
To the point where, with my next blood test, I was slightly (but not much) OVERACTIVE ... I really do guarantee it. I'm only taking the Omega 3's at the moment (because they're cheaper) but I get overwhelmingly exhausted by early evening, where with the kelp, I could keep going until 10-11pm easily.
And yes, check your diet, and Yes, do more exercise. Your metabolism is sluggish and slow and you have to FORCE yourself to do these things, with a little bit of help with herbal supplements, you'll have a better chance of achieving.
Cheers

Also, I don't know why I didn't think of this before because it effects me often is your adrenials. If you're under any kind of stress or have other medical problems it will effect your adrenials and the number one symptom is being tired.
There's a kiniesology test for it but I don't know if I can explain how to do it :)
If you lay on your back and fold one leg over the other one (bent), have someone try pulling that bent leg out (towards them) and you try and not let them. If your adrenals are weak, that leg will go weak. You won't be able to keep them from pulling it out. They don't have to overpower you. If it's weak, it will be weak no matter what.
I take adrenal pep which is a liquid dropper stuff. You take a dropper full under the tongue at least 3 times a day. It is homeopathic so don't drink or eat anything 10 minutes before or after.
There is also something called DSF for adrenials.

Yes, get rid of "white foods", sugar, white flour, white veggies, breads.....ect.
I take 5000mcg of B12 to give me lots of energy! Also, DMG, which is vit. B15 helps a lot. Both of these are best if you get the kind that dissolves under your tongue.
Try drinking more water too.

alongside kelp look into the amono acid L-tyrosine. it might help you in two ways. fristly, this amino acid is the used to make several thyroid gland hormones. secondly, it is the direst precursor to the excitory neurotransmitters noradrenaline and dopamine. a shortage in the brain of these can lead to both mental and physical exhaustion. some people have a deficiency in certain amino acids. look into this, it may be an issue for you too.

i've heard alot about this in books but never actually seen it in a shop. its never in any of the B-complexes. Earl Mindell says about it: "if you're an athlete or just want to feel like one, then i advise one B-15 in the morning and one in the evening." how effective is it? and where do you buy yours from?

Alex, Most health/vitamin stores carry it. Don't ask for B15, sometimes they have no idea what it is. It is usually under DMG. A nutritionist recommended taking this daily.
DMG - N, N-Dimethyglycine

Good advice about the sauna. Not only will it get toxins out, but will relax painful muscles and let you sleep better. And with Fib. Myalgia, the mattress you sleep on might be too hard for your tender muscles. I don't have FM, but my certa mattress is too hard for me, causes pressure points & worstens my sore legs & shoulders. I can't afford a temper pedic mattress but I found the foam topper for$40 at department store. The material is called memory foam and really helps me to sleep deeper. I know people are talking in this thread about royal jelly. I'm planning to try it too, but I find virgin coconut oil to be a good energy enhancer. It seems to keep my blood sugar stable so I don't get drowsy when I haven't eaten in a few hours. Coconut oil helps the thyroid gland work properly and speeds up your metabolism, which in turn allows weight loss. It contains the essential fatty acid called lauric acid which is part of our brain, along with EPA and DHA. Those two we get from fish oil. If your brain is starved of essential fatty acids long enough, it can go haywire. Fatigue is the first thing to happen. Don't worry about coconut oil being fattening - it's not. It goes directly to the liver and is converted into energy immediately, doesn't get stored as fat. Coconut oil also has anti-bacterial, anti-fungal, anti viral and anti allergen properties.

Gort, I have to agree about the sauna or the hot tub. It helps all the aches and pains . I too wasn't sleeping until I got a memory foam pad for my bed. What a difference that made.
I read about the organic virgin coconut oil. Do you cook with it, take it orally, or use it as a moisterizer, or all the above?

Hi, Texcin. I eat a spoonful 3 or 4 times a day. Along with extra energy, it helps with my dust/pet allergies. No more itchy eyes. If I bake cookies, I use half coconut oil, half butter, because I still like to get the other fatty acids from butter, which is healthy fat too. As far as moisturizer, I used to put it on my face/hands at night but find that it mostly evaporates. It does soften skin, though. Now I use Rosa Mosqueta moisturizer with rosehips oil. Sinks in better, no oily residue. The rosehips oil has tightened up my skin that was sagging & healed some acne scars. My lips/eye area are firmer & more plump too.

Gort, Where do you buy the Rosa Mosqueta?
Am I understanding that you can replace butter with coconut oil. Same amounts?

Tex, you can get Rosa Mosqueta from REMOVED or check a health store for Aubrey products. They are a well known natural product, chemical-free company based in Florida. I get it from a health shop.
I think officially it's recommended to substitute the same amount of coconut oil to butter. I find a little less coconut oil than butter works in cookies since it makes them slightly more oily to go with 1:1 ratio. Most web sites about coconut oil give you the goods on what amounts to cook with.

ephedra sincia has been shown to increase the activity of the thyroid gland i believe it is available to use as alternative medicine for cold/sinus its perfectly legal although it is banned for use in weight loss / performance enhancing supplements by the FDA... however you MUST use this herb with discresion since it poses a risk of high blood pressure, and stimulate the heart. you must measure the dosage accurately to pervent or decrease these symtoms. good luck

Hi,
I have FMS & CFIDS, my doctor started me on NADH, a natural supplement that helps and truly works for fatigue .cognitive thinking and cellular energy. I have been taking it for over a year now..,you can read previous posts of mine on the FMS and CF health topics.
I have been under the care of a doctor who treats the whole body. My treatment has been addressing the thyroid, adrenal system, immune system underlying infections and neurotoxins with natural hormones, supplements and meds and diet changes. Here are some things that help me:Cymbalta, NT Factor, Energy Extract, Serotonin, B100, taken 1X a day with food.
Plus make sure you are eating, this is key even if its small meals every 3-4 hours, or eat breakfast, snack, lunch. snack, dinner, snack...I notice I get energy when I eat, (I do choose foods that help produce energy). It feels as if I can no longer deprive my body of sleep, water, food, balance, along with taking my meds on time...or I pay dearly!
Are you having your thyroid levels tested to know if you're on the right dosage? It should include testing the levels of TSH, free T3 (triiodothyronine) and free T4 (thyroxine).
Based on my latest lab work, I'm still too low in my T3/T4 levels, I'll be getting my new dosage on Friday, it should be just a couple of days for me to hopefully bounce back to feeling great again. :bouncing:
I am a fellow sister sharing my journey, I do not have a medical background, but since these are the same issues that I have dealt with, thought I'd share.
uvm ;)
P.S. Please make sure to get the okay from your doctor on all additional herbals, supplements, and diet changes before taking them. :)
thanks for the help
