We are getting ready for discharge from the hospital. Now it is time to place in a rehab center. Injury is c5 and leaving on vent. Looking for information on how to find the best center for rehabilitation in the Northeast. I can not find any online reviews by patients. Any ideas?

where exactly do you live?sounds like you will be needing acute rehab?Dosent the hosp that this person is in have any referrals for this?i had to go where they actually had a bed space open in their acute rehab.i was lucky though as the rehab hospital where i ended up was one of the best in the state of MN.they were just wonderful and really were the key to me actually being able to walk and regain at least some reuse of my L hand again.Marcia

Kessler Institute - in NJ very good reputation. My husband was there after spinal surgery. Christopher Reeves went there as well after his accident.

Kessler has been non responsive and we have also tried Magee, Mt Sinai and others. I have not seen the chart but since he is C4-C5 and apparently not likely to get off the vent he is not a great candidate so I am told for acute. Therefore we are looking now at Sub Acute. ALso having trouble and now they are saying maybe a skilled nursing facility but I am concerned there will be no rehab there.
