I have found during this wonderful time (lol just trying to be optimistic) I have now started having problems with urinary frequency. My bladder just feel like its extra sensitive right now. I've gone to my urologist and informed her I am now going thru menopause and so she checked me for infection and found none. She suggested I start Kegel exercises and I do those faithfully and she advised to drink just water or flavored water (which I've done for 3 months now) but I still feel like I need to go to the bathroom more often. Could it be all the vitamins we take during this time? Any suggestions would be helpful. I'd like to try some things on my own before I go back cause she said she would put me on some type of medication.

Thanks!

I have always had this frequency the week before my period ...I can remember as early as 20 having to go all the time and at least a few times in the middle of the night.
I too find my bladder sensitive. It isn't every month, but in a year's time, there are months that I am acutely aware of my bladder. I think it is just the ebb and flow of estrogen.

I had a partial hyste.11 years ago so I can't really time the frequency. I just know that right now it irritates me that I have to be sure I know where the bathrooms are all the time when I never had to worry about it before. Just another thing to put up with I guess. It really shouldn't surprise me by now.

I go maybe 8-10 times a day, and it irritates me too about having to know where the bathrooms are at all times. I feel like a freak sometimes. Its just something that goes with peri-menopause, so I hear. I drink a lot of water anyway, so I'm sure it doesn't help. What kind of supplements are you taking? Certain supplements will act as a mild dierutic (sp). Magnesium and vit C are two that can have that effect. Sometimes I leak a bit when I laugh hard or sneeze or cough hard. I hate that! It only started two years ago, and I'm 50 now. Isn't this just so much fun?
