I am a 16 year old female. About 6 months ago, I noticed a small, hard, rock-like deposit under the skin on my left cheek. I waited to see if it would go away, but it hasn't. It hasnt changed in size. When I squeeze it, it is uncomfortable and it hurts! I am very worried about it - anyone, help!

Rock hard? Is it really that hard?

The reason I ask is because when I turned sixteen (coincidence, I'm sure) I had a hard, but not rock hard, bump develop under the skin on my right cheek. You couldn't see it but you could feel it.

I was convinced it was because I had been making fun of this girl Leslie who had a big hairy mole on her right cheek (honest, I'm not kidding).

It ended up being a benign cyst and actually reabsorbed or went away after a few years.

Now it could be an acne cyst but generally there is redness and swelling in that area.
