Wondering if anyone else understands this. It's hard to explain, but sometimes when I wake up in the morning, I feel kind of shaky on the inside, and my mind is kind of racey. I'm having thoughts like Why are we here?, Am I alright?, Does anything make sense? ect. I can't put my finger on it. I just don't feel right. It seems more intense than the usual ocd stuff. Hope someone gets it....

I don't have these kind of obsessions, but they're somewhat common. They're what I would categorize as "metaphysical obsessions," wondering why (or if) you exist, why the universe was created, etc.

I get something like that when waking up also.. some days i wake up in such an anxious state my mind is blasting through 1000s of things at once.. sometimes when this happens i am so out of it i start to get derealization where nothing seems real around me anymore.. like i will look at my dog and for some silly reason it wont click in my mind that he is my dog.. i know deep down he is but the thought that "maybe" i am just dreaming i have a dog keeps intruding and i have to keep saying to myself "thats my dog, i remember picking him out as a puppy"... and so on.. until the thought passes.. i guess thats not exactly like what you are talking about.. but kinda close..

I have the same morning problem, though it can last all day, too. I usually run around all day long, physically not being able to even sit down, pushed around by the constant anxiety.
May I ask what meds have helped you?

Thank you,

I take Luvox and Effexor XR. Also have xanax to use on "as needed" basis. I was doing great for about a month. And, now lately, it has gotten bad again. I feel like I'm walking around all day full of anxiety. Just waiting for another obsession to hit. It's hard when you have been doing so good, and then it hits again. Always makes me question if it's the ocd or just me losing it and going nuts~~

I take Lexapro daily and Ativan (as needed).I have also taken paxil, zoloft, and klonopin in the past all worked great, although weaning off paxil was ruff.........weaning off zoloft and klonopin wasnt a big deal for me.

I understand what ya mean CJ about it comming back and hitting you all over again that is how the anxiety is for me I can be fine for months or years no meds and then WHAM it hits again and hard and I am back on meds.
