Hi Chrissi:

I've had migraines for over 13 years. I only have them right before my period and as my period is ending, so I finally realized they were hormonal. I tried going back on hormones (birth control) to try to stabilize my cycle (this works for some people), but they made my migraines even worse. Don't know if this helps answer your question, but it sounds like she should talk to her doctor about it. Maybe she doens't need to take hormones if they are hurting more than helping.

I'm on the depo shot and it has actually decreased the frequency of my migraines.
