I have aproblem with late night eating. I usually have a small breakfast then snack during the day, have a decent dinner about 6-7PM, but I always find myself continueing to eat this and that,i.e.;cereal, yogurt, ice cream, cookies, popcorn, etc., late at night.
Any suggestions how to help stop this type of late night, overeating behaviour?
I've tried drinking lots of water after dinner to make me feel full but I still find myself scrounging the kitchen for something to snack on.
Anyone have any ideas or suggestions?

It sounds to me like you are maybe getting hungry after dinner.
And you've developed a bad habit of letting yourself snack at that time.
The solution is to eat a bigger dinner or to change the content of those dinners. If there are too many carbs and not enough fats and proteins you will likely get hungry soon after eating.
Alo, instead of snacking on such high carb things try something with more protein - it will make you feel fuller and satisfy you better.
examples:
cucumber slivces with low fat cottage/cream cheese.
Slices of ham/chicken/turkey.
Nuts (only a small amount.)

Sounds like you may not be eating enough during the day. What kind of small breakfast do you have, and what do you snack on? Maybe eating a bigger breakfast, a lunch with protein and some good carbs may help your hunger at night. I think our bodies are trying to tell us something when we get cravings. Maybe a multivitamin would also help.

I had the same problem. I wasn't eating because I was hungry, it was because in the evenings I generally just sit around and watch tv. I found that by keeping myself busy in other ways, like using the computer, doing various crafts, etc. it's easier to stay away from the snacking.

I have the same problem. I am working on it though. I tend to over eat if I stay up past a certain time. So I just go to bed before then. If I am not tired then I just find something else to do. Like read a book, or listen to music. I usually am not hungry, but I eat because I think something would taste really good right then. If that makes since.
