Hi everyone,
Just wanted to let you guys know that I may be gone for awhile! As of right now, the hurricane is coming straight for Galveston. I live south of Houston. If the weather people say that it is still coming "smak dab at us" in the morning, we are leaving.
My husband, me and our yellow lab, will go and pick up my parents and take their car too. Then we will travel to my FILs house and take him and his wife also. What fun!!! 4 oldies, 2 - 50 somethings and a lab in 2 cars. Plus both of these ladies, love to bring lots of food!!! We are not bringing much except for us, food and water and clothes. Just raising things up off of the floor. No furniture tho and no boarding of windows. We should only get a few downed trees and flooding! I hope!! Or maybe it will turn in the am.
We are going to the New Braunfels, San Marcos and Austin area of Texas. Lots of relatives there to stay with. I am afraid tho, that the highways will be packed and slow! Probably will take us twice as long as normal. The schools and colleges, south of Houston are closed Wed. - Fri. So... probably lots of people are leaving. What fun it will be to travel with 2 alzheimers people, 1 - 90 yr. old and his younger wife!!! I cannot wait! :>
Will talk to yall when I get back - if indeed we do leave tomorrow. I probably can read yall up there - just not talk. Good Luck to you ladies.
Take care, we are. Love, Wannabe

Hi Wannabe -
Stay safe and on high land! It looks like the weather mess may go to Austin and Waco, too. Hope you can take your photos as that's what the Katrina folks are saddest about. Glad you have family to live with!
Go though Brenham and save the BlueBell ice cream!!
Blessings - Barbara

If you have to leave, have a safe trip. I'll pray that everything turns out ok for you.
My nephew lives in Louisiana. He worked in New Orleans. Through all of that devistation, his home received no damage, just a downed tree in the driveway. And although his office is gone (he's a lawyer), someone loaned him a place to do buisness out of. So he truely was blessed.
I pray that God blesses you and your family with the same luck my nephew was blessed with.
Love, Barb
