Well I went to the gp yesterday. My bp was 160/100. I'm taking hctz, toprol xl, procardia. The gp increased the procardia to 60 mg. The kidney dr. started me on 30 mg. last week. Got the results of my ultrasound and doppler. Today had to go for a mra. I have renal artery stenosis in my left kidney. My gp claims if I go for a angiogram of my kidney and have a stent put in, I probably won't have hbp anymore. I've been treated for 20 years. He says its not a hbp problem but a kidney problem. Oh the joys of doctors.

Patti

I know this sounds weird to say, but I am envious that you have a known cause for your hbp. I think a lot of us feel that way. It's so frustrating to have hbp that is resistant to treatment (like mine) and finding no cause for it.
