I'm not sure what a 'lemonade cleanse' is but I do know that there are lots of people who will squeeze a few drops of fresh lemon juice with their water. My mom does this (it takes the place of her coffee which she stopped drinking two months ago). There is a chinese food restaurant that I go to, and they give you water with slices of lemon.

I think this is like a simple detoxification and liver cleanse. I believe its also good for the digestive system and for bloatedness. It can be accomplished by taking one oz. of fresh lemon juice in 8 oz. of water (or 1/2 oz. of lemon juice to 4 oz. of water) upon arising and before bedtime...although I'm sure many people do it differently. Some people use warm water (like my mom) and some use cold water (like me).

Whenever I have read about the plan, you are supposed to fast, not drink it on top of regular eating.

Yes the lemonade cleanse is a fast, otherwise you would not cleanse your body eating regularly for the rest of the day.

Is it meant strictly to cleanse your system or to help you loose weight? http://www.healthboards.com/ubb/confused.gif

I'm sorry but i only speak/write french normally and i don'T know what "Fast" means in that situation ? It replace a meal or you should take only this in the day ?

Also, is it to loose weight or to cleanse the system ?

Thanks !

"Fast" gets used several ways. It can mean drinking nothing except water. It can mean drinking nothing except juice (usually fruit but sometimes vegetable juice also). In this case it means eating not food and only drinking the lemon juice/maple syrup mixture throughout the day.

The "lemonade fast/diet" also called the "master cleaner fast" is promoted both to cleanse the system and to lose weight.

Sounds horrible for taste, I'll stick to my water fast for now.

Ok, fast or no fast, i definetly heard about this on the Howard Stern show... she looks TOO skinny but that is for another topic.

My question is... how long should you do this for? a week? a few days?

Thanks!

This lemonade fast is knowna s the "master cleanser", it is a strict fast of NOTHING but distilled water, grade B maple syrup, fresh organic lemon juice, and cayenne pepper. You can have all the spring water and herbal tea you want also. The cayenne is heating and stimulates cleansing, the lemon cleanses the blood and the maple syrup is for sustance, because it has some trace minerals. The fast can be helpful in lossing weight, but it is dwesigned for cleasnsing toxins. It is supposed to last at least ten days, and HAS TO BEGIN AND END VERY CAREFULLY. Before you begin aliquid fast you should eat raw fruits and veggies for at least a day before hand. Breaking a fast is the hardest part, you should start the break by drinking diluted juice for a day or two, them raw fruits and veggies the next day, and then add a simple whole grain, like rice, and then protien, and small portiens until your body gets used to digestion again. Whew! It's alot of work.

I've done the fast before, but only for seven days. I do not reccomend it,altough it feels great and is helpful in cleansing, it is too high in SUGAR! This can compromise your blood sugar levels and is not so good. If anyone is intersted in doing a liquid cleanse, i would suggest a spirulina micro-algae fast. It has ALOT od vits and minerals as well as protien! A great cleasnse! But if you are going to fast, make sure to plan really well and be prepared.
