I just wanted to comment here.I'm reading a lot of negative stuff about the Adkins diet. Please do yourselves a favor and read the book,it makes so much since.I'm presently on Adkins and I feel great,I'm not starving like I was on Weight Watchers. In defense of Adkins from personal experience I think everyone ought to read the book(the 2002 edition)its the only way to diet as far as I'm concerned. It's very healthy,NOT unhealthy.

Well, I have read the book and my hubby and I both tried it, our cholestral went up to over 300 and Cardiologist said to back off, cholestral back to under 120, he is happy and so are we. Aitkins may work for you but not everyone, it doesn't take a rocket scientist to figure out when something isn't working for ya. Pushing myself away from the table, small portions, no eating after 7pm works best for me, but it isn't for everyone. I couldn't get enough energy to workout when I was on it either.

There is not one plan that works for everyone. Hopefully the "main stream experts" will figure that out some day.

Meantime, I think it is just most people's hope that no one will criticize alternate plans based on total nonsense. If a plan does not work for you, fine; share the experience; no one is forcing anyone to do anything here.

I agree.

What works for one might not work for another.
And there most definately is more than one way for any person to lose weight, we just have to find the best way for each of us.

Share your experiences but don't think you can force people to try YOUR way. They may have tried it and found it is not for them or they know it won't work for them.

ya'll are right of course!I didn't mean to come across like it did.I'm just saying for people who haven't tried it,should, but of course they don't have to.I posted this without reading on down the boards farther,it seems alot of people do like/love Adkins and I do also.I have noticed since my dieting days started back in 98,that every diet wants you to watch portions, drink water and exercise,so I'm sure if anyone would do that they'll lose wieght,I'd also really watch the carbs and refined sugars.
