Hello. I’ve looked at the other boards and couldn’t really see anywhere to put this. Even in here it’s probably a long shot since it’s not even a health issue, but oh well.
I’ve suddenly developed this weird obsession with passenger aeroplanes – Boeing 757s and such like. I’ve always liked planes and loved it when we went on holiday; just for the journey on the plane. For a long time I had planned being a commercial pilot “when I grew up”. This is starting to waver a bit off topic now, so back to the point. The past few days I’ve enjoyed several hours just sitting here at the PC reading through articles on different commercial aircraft and looking through loads of pictures of various passenger planes. I know that sounds normal, but I’ll stop reading them for a while, come back to the PC and think “Hmmm, I need to look through some aeroplane pics”. I think the key word in that sentence is “need” as opposed to “want”.
Could it be some form of subliminal message, or merely a little childhood dream has momentarily come back to me?
I know this is a stupid thread lol, but just wondering if anyone with a psychology background or something knows what it means, because I don’t understand it.

Ummmm, have you found you have obsessed about other things at other times in your life or is this rather unusual?
What started the original thinking?
Approximately DO NOT GIVE EXACT age group are you in? 13-16, 17-22, 23-29,etc.
Do you have any obsessive compulsive behaviors?

I've had hobbies and stuff, obviously, but it just suddenly it came on me a few days ago and I just wanted to read and read about planes, and look at loads of pictures etc. No, I don't recall being like this over anything before.
Age Group = 17-22

If this is not something that is showing up in other areas of your life I would suggest you not make it a big deal. It seems to me this is unusual behavior for you so you are questioning it.
It could have been a dream you don't conciously remember, something you read or heard on tv that you can't recall or it could be just simply you have found a real interest.
I don't find this to be a bad, wrong or alarming thing. It may be your spirits way of guiding you towards a lifetime interest or it may eventually pass.
I tend to get something in my head and obsess over it until I absolutely sicken myself with it. For instance, recently I got interested in vitamins and I must have spent several hours a day reading up on all aspects of vitamins. Eventually I wore myself out with all the influx of information.
Sometimes we can go from zero interest in something to obsessive interest in something and eventually settle in the middle, somewhere between no interest and extreme interest.
I think you are more then fine.
