I was going to try the lemonade fast. Has anyone tried it? I know one of the ingredients is organic maple syrup. Where can you get this, the regular grocery store?. I just wanted to know if anyone has tried this and if they lost weight. THanks!!

A fast should NOT be used for weight loss.

Sure you might drop a couple of pounds but that is all water weight and it will come back when you go back to eating normally.

A fast should only be done for religious reasons - there is no other good reason to put your body through such torture.

If you want to cleanse your body, the best way to do it is to eat healthily, permanently. You body naturally tries to cleanse itself all the time but can't do it if you keep adding too many toxins.
A fast might cleanse your body but it will only last until the first bite of "bad" food you eat.

Oh, gosh, I do disagree here. I don't agree with the 20 or 40 days of lemon/maple syrup mix promoted on one of the websites, but I think a fast for a day or two every now and then is REALLY nice. It gives the system a rest and I find it really helpful to put my relationship with food in perspective.

suzie, i just posted along explination of this fast under the post "lemonade ? cleanse" check it out. I've done it but don't reccomend it, there's alot more detail in my other post.

If it is the one I am thinking of (Huldah Clark?), this program is somewhat different. No reason to be scared of a good fast! (Not that I think Clark's is so scary either.)
