Hi, I have been living with anxiety and ocd for 10 plus yrs and just went to my family dr for the "official diagnosis". After a month of Paxil 20 and Ativan he is referring me to a psychiatrist. What should I expect when I go for my initial visit? I am of course obsessing about going to the new dr, going over what I am going to tell him, but would like some real life experiences or suggestions. To mention I am 31 male, I am mainly a "checker" and have pretty bad nighttime anxiety. Paxil has changed my mood, I am more angry and mean to my wife and kids, sex sucks now (from extremely horny to never in the mood). Anyway thanks in advance

hi, i have been to see a counsellor twice now. The first time they just assessed me to decide what level of treatment i needed. The second time was a bit more in depth - talking about the things that worry me and cause me distress. I try and tell myself to be totally honest with the counsellor and not be embarassed about anything. I am trying CBT therapy. I think i have another 7 sessions left and hopefully i will be worry free. To be honest i dont like going as i feel embarassed but i will stick it out.
