My husband (41, 5' 6", 155 pounds) was just told he has high cholesterol for the first time. (Chol. 248, couldn't tell you what the other numbers are right now). He was scheduled for a procedure two days ago and this high chol. was found on the blood work performed a few weeks before. However, the blood was taken a couple of days after our 11-day vacation of nothing but eating, drinking and doing nothing but sitting by the pool. Could this have contributed to the high number? Thanks!

Yes definitely. It happened to me a few years ago. I don't know if this is the cause of your husband's but it is quite possible. He should try cutting back on red meat and reduce cholesterol in his diet and eat plenty if veggies and fruit and very lean white meat and skinless and fish. Try this for a month and have hi blood taken again. Try keeing it low fat and stay away from processed foods. There is so much hidden crap in pre packaged foods that cause many problems within the body...good luck, Lisa

I agree with Moxie. Also had more fiber to the diet. It is suppose to help with lowering cholesterol.
