Ok....I'm freaking out again. I just got over the last cold a week ago and now I wake up to another one. I feel just awful. I never felt this bad before because of colds. All I did was eat fruits and vegtables for the last 10 months like mad and took vitamins to boost my immune system. Is my immune system that broken down from this ear stuff? I cover my nose and mouth around my son and repeadly wash my hands. Am I just this suseptiple to illness.

I really feel I will never get rid of this ear stuff and feel better again. I couldn't be that fortunate. It seems as if bad luck follows me. Two colds in one month and it isn't even cold and flu season yet. What gives?

hey gloria,
you are not alone. i just got over a cold about 2 weeks ago, which went straight to my ears, and caused all the dizzys to return. i started feeling pretty good last week, but i woke up this morning, and i feel awful. my eyes feel so heavy, and im getting chills............it scares me, cause i know it always affects my ears. i have been dealing with this for almost a year now, and im with you, i feel like i won't ever get over it, and get my life back. hope you start feeling good very soon.

Hi feel bad 2 much,

How did your ear problem originally start? Was it from a cold?

It stinks. Sometimes I can't believe this has happened to me.

Well....I hope your not coming down with a cold too. Take care - Gloria

Gloria,

I feel so bad for you and hope you feel better soon. I think all the anxiety we get from this horrible ear thing lowers or immune system. I can't believe this has happened to me either. I have had the worst luck with my health since this happened. Please relax and feel better soon.

I'm SO sorry. Hopefully this won't last long. It can't be easy with a young son, who is probably catching all kinds of viruses from his friends at school, to stay healthy. You are on the right track with the vitamins, and eating healthy, and washing hands. Really important. You will be fine. When I got sick I used "airborne". It's a tablet full of vitamins and herbs, that you put in some water and drink. Take it a couple times a day (I think every three hours) at the first onset of symptoms or when you think you are going into an environment that might make you sick. It cut my cold/flu down to two days instead of the usually week and a half I usually get. It's just a suggestion, hopefully it might work for you. I also think maybe taking echinacea on a regular basis might help.

I'm sorry you feel bad. Feel better soon!
Hugs,
Joy

Hi Gloria
I know just how you feel. When I first got labs almost 4 years ago my kids were 5 and 6 and were bringing home every bug imaginable. I was constantly in panic mode thinking each of those colds were going to get into the ear! I remember running to the doctor for a throat swab every two weeks at the first sign of a cold...he was very patient thank goodness.
I still attribute my initial labs infection with the Flu vaccine, which apparently is one of the bugs that causes this, not sure if the same is true for a small cold.
In any case you will be fine! I have found taking North American Ginseng really helps, it is not the same thing as Siberian or any other type of ginseng, it has to be either American or Canadian..do a web browse on it. Any time now I feel a cold coming I start taking it and most times I never get the cold. I have had about 3 colds in the past three years since using it. I only take it just when I first feel the symptoms and during a cold if Iget one. Keep drinking tons of water, stay hydrated!
Hope you are feeling better today!

So sorry that you are having a rough time. Hope you are feeling better today. It is awful isn't it. Im just going through a cold and felt so dizzy at the start of it - really spinning, but it has calmed down a bit now. I too am surprised about the immune system seeming weak, like you I have been eating nothing but veg and healthy food and drink, and think that surely I am healthier than I was before this illness. Hopefully this may be the worst of it. I always get colds when the weather changes and so there is a chance that you will be okay after this. I guess as your body gets used to the illness it may react less and less each time aswell - sort of a decompensation maybe.

Hope you are feeling better today
Best wishes

Thanks ladies... I was feeling slightly better yesterday, but my head and neck hurt today. Although this cold doesn't seem as bad as the one I had a few weeks ago. At this point I would assume it is not going to get any worse. You folks are so comforting and I appreciate it.

I am taking Ginseng and Echineacea. I was told to take it a couple of weeks and then stop for a couple then take it again. It is a mixture called phytosheild that has all kinds of immune defense herbs in it like astragalus and maitake and shaitake mushroom along with 2 different kinds of ginseng (not sure what they are) and some other things. Not sure if it helps or not. I hope it is doing something for me. I wish I could take something to get rid of this head monster all together. Strange thing is I really don't feel dizzy anymore it is more pressure in my head and mildly in my ears and headache, tinnitus and vision probems. I thought those symptoms would go first. I'd just be glad if the vision and tinnitus went away. I think I could deal with the pain and pressure.

Firechick - you are so right about the kids. I am so afraid of him being in preschool and bringing this crap home to me. He already got 2 viruses in the month of September. This is how this all started for me too so I worry even more.

CL - I'm praying everything goes well this weekend at your sister's wedding. Your a real trooper to be in it. This hit close to home to me because my best friend from high school is finally getting married and wanted me to be in the wedding. She keep asking all summer and a couple weeks ago they went to get their dresses. I had to tell her I didn't think I could because I didn't know when I'd be better and the thought of standing there for so long, I just don't think I could do it. She understood, but I feel so awful that I had to decline the invitation. I really wanted to do it but feel so awful and didn't want to ruin her wonderful day. I really wish I could do things without thinking about them before doing them and not feel crummy doing fun things. Good luck and I hope you feel better by then. I still think you are brave teaching all those small kids. I'm so afraid of just sending my kid to school.

Take care all of you and thanks for the support.
Gloria
