View Full Version : Eustachian Tube dysfunction - Throat/mucus problem!

Hey everyone

As most of you know I have a vestibular disorder which has resulted in Eustachian tube dysfunction.

Since the problem started I noticed I was having to clear my throat a lot....it feels like mucus is sitting at the top of my throat.

The past few months it has gotten worse. Every single day I am constantly battling to clear it...and it never clears. I give myself a sore throat where I'm always trying to clear it. I can feel it all day long.

I take antihistamines every day because I get bad allergies and I even resorted to taking a syrup for cattarh and congestion..but it didn't work.

I was just wondering if anyone has the same problem? and what have they tried to help?

Thanks

Kelly

Kelly,

I had this so bad for about 4 months when it all started. It was so bad in the morning when I got up that I would choke and gag on the excessive mucas until I would throw up like a 1/4 cup of it. I would constantly try and clear my throat and swallow really hard but most times it would not go down. I let it run its corse and eventually went away. I don't know where it was draining from because my nasal passages where clear so my assumption is it was coming from my ears.

Hopefully yours will clear up too. Take care - Gloria
